Bodegas Martinón

This small family bodega sits in Masdache, at the eastern edge of La Geria.

Eduardo Martinón Armas, known locally as Babo Martinón, started the project in 2006 to make a single-vintage wine entirely from Malvasía Volcánica, the grape that defines the island. The vines grow in zocos, the hand-dug volcanic craters shielded by curved lava-rock walls from the trade winds. The cellar releases four labels: the flagship Blanco Seco, a semi-sweet Afrutado, the dry Lágrima drawn from century-old vines, and a Blanc de Noirs introduced in 2019, the first in Lanzarote, pressed white from Listán Negro. The shop on Camino El Mentidero opens twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and bottles from the line have collected gold and grand gold at the Pequeñas DO and VinEspaña competitions.
