3 bodegas in Masdache
Masdache
Masdache sits between La Geria and Tinajo on Lanzarote's central plain, a flatter expanse of lapilli sometimes overlaid with jable, the wind-blown sand that migrates inland from the south. The combination keeps day-night temperature swings sharper than down in the southern valley, producing wines with brisker acidity. Three bodegas farm Masdache and the neighbouring pagos of Tao and Tiagua (Bodegas Vega de Yuco, Bodega Vulcano de Lanzarote and Bodegas Martinón), each working both Malvasía Volcánica and the island's red Listán Negro alongside it. Administratively, Masdache and Tiagua sit in the municipality of San Bartolomé while Tao belongs to Teguise. Together they make up the most central viticultural pocket on the island.
